Mission
Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP), founded in 1972, shelters, rescues and finds homes for homeless animals. CAP advocates respect and compassion for animal life and provides humane education to help prevent cruelty to animals. The CAP Shelter houses homeless animals. We also offer pet adoption; pet facilitated therapy; spaying and neutering; pet care counseling; lost and found services; pets for seniors; humane education; a pet supply shop; and volunteer assistance. Last year CAP sheltered and cared for 12,284 orphaned, rescued and abandoned pets and helped thousands of people with pet-related situations.
