Mission

The Bay Area Food Bank, a member of America's Second Harvest, the nation's network of Food Banks, works through member organizations and special programs to provide nutritious food to meet the challenge of feeding people who are hungry as a result of personal crisis or disaster. The Bay Area Food Bank supports over 700 feeding programs at over 550 agencies from our 35,000 sq. ft facility. We also educate the public regarding domestic hunger, proper nutrition and related issues. In addition, we provide food during time of disaster like the millions of pounds distributed after Hurricane Ivan and Katrina.
