Mission

Bread for the World Institute (BFWI) provides policy analysis on hunger and strategies to end it. The Institute educates its advocacy network, opinion leaders, policy makers and the public about hunger in the United States and abroad. BFWI is the research and educational partner of Bread for the World. BFWI generates studies on hunger issues and vital educational resources. Bread for the World is a 54,000-member Christian citizens' movement against hunger. Founded in 1974, Bread for the World's members have lobbied Congress and the administration to bring about public policy changes that address the root causes of hunger and poverty in the United States and overseas.
