Vision

We envision a future in which contemplation is widely recognized and practiced as a pathway to social and environmental transformation. Contemplation infuses our actions with the awareness that we live in a relational world, where everyone and everything is connected and interdependent. Together with insights from science and ethics, this awareness will increasingly be cultivated and applied to changing behaviors and mindsets, shifting the current paradigm towards a holistic, interconnected one.

Goals

1. 1.We plan to continue our focus on bringing contemplative practices to underrepresented minorities. We will do this through expanding our ongoing weekly virtual BIPOC Sangha, which now has an annual in-person retreat component. We also plan to offer a retreat exclusively for Women of Color in fall 2024. Additionally, we are launching a virtual monthly Sangha for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
2. 2.This goal is about the expansion and redirection of a joint Contemplative-Based Resilience and Pathways to Planetary Health initiative, done in response to pressing social needs in the world, to meet the needs of and build resilience for communities of color and those disproportionately impacted by climate stresses.
3. 3.We are planning an overhaul and professionalization of business processes, financial management, and development for an overall improvement in financial predictability and sustainability. This will include making strategic hires, expanding our external consultants, and utilizing KPIs and OKRs for performance management.
