The Cahoon Museum celebrates American art in ways that expand knowledge, enrich the spirit, and engage the heart.

Vision

We envision the Cahoon Museum of American Art as a vibrant art museum, welcoming everyone for lifelong learning and engagement.

Goals

1.Plan for the future of the campus through space planning and integration of the newly acquired historic building and access planning for all buildings, parking, and walking paths. Develop an exterior wayfinding plan. Develop standards for an exhibition style guide and invest in reusable exhibition elements of the highest professional quality.
2.Continue to deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences and exhibitions. Build relevancy for the museum audience while integrating deeper layers of interpretation throughout the visitor experience.
3.Continue sound financial planning and best financial practices to ensure a continued future for the museum. Explore new streams of income, plan wisely for the uses of the newly acquired property, and engage both the Board and key staff in building the financial strength of the museum.
