Mission

Karuna Center empowers communities to build peace by working across divides to transform conflict and strengthen resilience to violence. We have worked in more than 35 conflict-affected countries since 1994, with current programs focusing primarily in West Africa and the United States.

We envision a just and peaceful world in which difference is a source of creativity and strength.

Goals

1.Expand, network, and further develop our model for community-rooted peacebuilding in Nigeria
2.Launch a pilot applying our international peacebuilding model to the U.S. context
3.Support community peacebuilders, within and beyond our specific project areas, with resources for practical guidance
