Mission

GallopNYC provides equine-assisted services that help New Yorkers of all abilities build strength, confidence, and emotional well-being to lead more independent, fulfilling lives. We provide therapeutic riding, unmounted sessions, job skills training, and inclusive programs for children with autism, veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. Over half of our riders receive financial aid, and more than 50 percent identify as people of color. Founded in 2005, GallopNYC is New York’s largest therapeutic equine-assisted nonprofit sharing the transformative power of horses. For over two decades we have offered life-changing programming to a community as diverse as New York City itself.

Goals

1.We are expanding programs offering group and family activities, primarily for Veterans, families with a family member with ASD, and families that have experienced trauma./
2.Increasing on site capacity, especially to allow all weather services, and open additional program sites. Our wait list is nearly 2000 riders compelling us to expand capacity.
3.We are committed to building a pipeline of trainee instructors and mentoring them to certification, to expand our capacity.
