Vision

Partnering with local school districts, Department of Social Services, Departments of Health, Department of Mental Health, other not-for-profit agencies, food pantries; Focus on the Children identifies needs for children that are unmet by traditional resources. A family may struggle to afford or find resources for direct needs such as beds, cribs, sports attire, field trips, infant needs, etc. If all other resources are explored Focus on the Children may agree to fund the need or opportunity through a payment to a vendor or school.

Goals

1. 1.Due to the collaborative relationship with area help professionals, Focus on the Children is able to adjust as trends are discovered. For instance, recently there was concern that families would experience food insecurity due to cutbacks in their SNAP benefits and along with other food pantries and schools, Focus on the Children was able to add emergency food assistance to their services.
2. 2.Focus on the Children has never declined support due to budget constraints, instead the agency has increased their budget and the areas of services to fill gaps of service in the communities we support.
3. 3.When Focus on the Children was aware of the rising needs and the costs of those needs, the agency was able to collect additional contributions and grants and elected to increase the distribution they from an endowment fund without jeopardizing future sustainability.
