Over the past 12-18 months, the Carteret County Public School Foundation has witnessed significant growth and adaptability. We've embarked on a transformative journey, ensuring our commitment to education remains unwavering in the face of internal and external changes.
One of our proudest accomplishments during this time has been the successful launch of our scholarship program, the Big Rock Teaching Fellows. This initiative is designed to support local students in pursuing higher education with the promise that they'll return to Carteret County as dedicated teachers. In this short period, we've seen the program come to fruition, with three remarkable students on their journey to becoming educators. It's a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent within our community and addressing the critical need for teachers.
As part of our ongoing efforts to expand our reach and impact, we recognized the need for a dedicated Development Director. In response, we hired a visionary leader who shares our passion for education and community. This addition has empowered us to broaden our programs, forge new partnerships, and secure sustainable funding sources, ensuring the continued growth of our foundation.
In the midst of change, our mission to empower education has remained steadfast. We've adapted and thrived, creating a brighter future for our students, our community, and the countless lives we touch. As we move forward, our dedication to fostering excellence in education continues to guide our every step.
