Mission

To support children and families who have escaped abusive situations. The Freestore collects furniture and household goods donated by members of the community and gives them (at no cost) to clients of domestic violence services and other agencies as these

Vision

Through the efforts of volunteers and the kindness of donors, the Freestore seeks to have a positive impact on the lives of families in need, and on the greater Des Moines community.

Goals

1.Diversify/expand volunteer base (Freestore is volunteer run), strategic partnerships (for client referrals and financial support), and organizational capacity (Board strength/succession planning).
2.Maintain/grow organizational infrastructure, required for the future of the organization. We are working to finding a larger warehouse, and strengthening Board capacity and succession.
3.Enhance the sustainability of the Freestore: raising awareness of the Freestore, promote Freestore marketing and enhance storytelling, and diversifying our revenue streams.
