Friends of the Blount County Animal Center

Mission

The mission of the Friends of the Blount County Animal Center is to provide funding to ensure that every healthy and adoptable animal finds a loving home, that every adoptable animal with a treatable condition receives the necessary medical care, and that every behaviorally sound animal with an untreatable condition is given the support and dignity it deserves.

Vision

Goals

1.Focus efforts on ensuring sufficient funding is available to provide all necessary medical care for the animals that come into our care, including emergency care. Reduce emphasis on capital expansion funding in order to prioritize direct medical needs and lifesaving treatment.
2.Identify and recruit new board members who bring additional leadership capacity and fundraising expertise to strengthen the organization’s long-term sustainability and development efforts.
3.Identify, implement and fund strategies to help reduce the large dog overpopulation in our area.
