Food Bank Network of Somerset County Inc.

Mission

The mission of The Food Bank Network is to distribute food and to provide other basic human needs to those less fortunate in our community in a manner recognizing and advancing self-worth and human dignity.

Vision

Our vision is to be a best-in-class non-profit engaged in the fight against food insecurity in Central New Jersey. We will do this by being a thought leader and focusing on continuous improvement and cutting edge approaches to maximize our assistance to food insecure neighbors while retaining a family-like organizational culture that never loses touch with the individual beneficiary.

Goals

1.Strengthening frontline client experiences, investing in empathy and crisis communications, develop community focused pantry programs and proactively build relationships with community-based organizations.
2.Expand services that reach clients who do not have transportation to get to our pantry satellite locations due to lack of public transportation services in the county. Expanding services to over 600 homeless individuals with hot meals through partnerships with community-based organizations. Expansion of weekend pantry hours at warehouse pantry location and home delivery services.
3.Internal capacity enhancement of our warehouse which houses supplies for over 8 pantries to 12 pantries. Optimization of current warehouse storage and organization by improving inventory management. Hired a seasoned fundraising professional in 2025 for the expansion of donors and donations through grants, and a new Customer Retention Management tool built in 2025.
