Mission

As a land trust, accredited by the Land Trust Alliance (LTA) our core mission is to protect and steward key lands and water in our service area in Woodstock and neighboring communities in the Eastern Catskills; to connect people, especially children, to nature and the land through education, outreach and communication; and to operate and model sustainability in our stewardship and our communities, including intelligent adaptation to and mitigation of the effects of climate change.

Vision

The Woodstock Land Conservancy (WLC) is committed to the permanent protection and preservation of open lands, water, natural resources, scenic areas, and historic sites in Woodstock and the surrounding eastern Catskills. At its core, WLC is an ever-growing community of dedicated and generous volunteers, supporters, and community members who share a passionate love and respect for the land and the unique place we live. Together we pursue land conservation goals as well as initiatives to create trails, protect water resources, adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change, support sustainability, and promote appropriate land use in the communities we serve.
