Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions
Mission
Homeward Bound is a no-kill adoption center dedicated to saving the lives of homeless cats in the Las Vegas Valley and providing a humane recourse for people in distress who are no longer able to care for their cats—offering an alternative to taking them to a municipal shelter or abandoning them in the streets. Homeward Bound works to achieve its mission through adoption, foster, and help desk services, together with community outreach and collaboration with other animal welfare organizations. Our modern, free-roaming adoption center is designed to minimize the stress experienced by homeless cats, increase enrichment, and make it easier for them to find loving homes. Homeward Bound respects and values the life of every cat, and strives to enrich the lives of our volunteers, employees, and visitors by providing a quality workplace, up-to-date humane education, and compassionate care for our cats.
Vision
Our vision is a community where every cat has a loving home or the support and resources needed to thrive. We strive to be a vital resource for individuals and families seeking guidance or needing support with anything cat-related, by providing comprehensive assistance to ensure they receive the help they need. We aim to be a significant part of building a future where the Las Vegas Valley is a model for the humane treatment and care of all cats.
Goals
- 1.Expand Adoption & Help Desk Services: Increase the number of cats adopted into homes by streamlining and expanding our program services. This will allow us to save more homeless cats and reduce their time in shelters. We plan to increase community outreach, provide comprehensive assistance and educate the public to help prevent cat overpopulation and abandonment, fostering a culture of compassion.
- 2.Implement Enrichment Program: Promote the mental and physical well-being of our cats by providing additional enrichment activities, creating stimulating environments and organizing daily activities to engage their natural instincts. This includes training staff and volunteers to provide meaningful interactions. Prioritizing enrichment aims to enhance the quality of life for every cat in our care.
- 3.Enhance Contributions & Partnerships: Utilizing a new software program, we commit to growing through increasing stewardship with our current donors, seeking company sponsorships and employee giving programs and increasing fundraising events. This will expand our audience and reach so, together, we can ensure sustainable growth for our Center and further the well-being of cats in our community.
