Mission

With its roots as a stapled-and-mailed newsletter launched by health care journalist Diane Lund in 1990 to educate the public about the shift to managed care, The Lund Report is among the first nonprofit news sources in Oregon. Today we are the only independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization exclusively providing public-service journalism about health care for the people and communities of Oregon and southwest Washington. Our reporting on this pivotal sector promotes accountability, highlights disparities and inequities, and helps communities understand the policies and trends shaping their health care. Through its monthly Oregon Health Forum, the organization also convenes health care leaders, advocates, and consumers to address challenges, foster collaboration, and advance positive change. The Forum’s motto: Get together. Do better.
