Mission

Care for Real’s mission is to foster a healthy and equitable community by helping neighbors and families overcome food insecurity with dignity. Through locations in Edgewater and Rogers Park, CfR provides food, clothing, pet food, referral, and additional services with compassion to improve the health and well-being of low-income residents to foster a stronger, healthier, equitable, and more stable community.

Vision

Care for Real welcomes neighbors and families facing food insecurity residing in the 60626, 60640 60645, 60659, and 60660 zip codes to visit either pantry location up to once a week.

Goals

1.Sustain pantry operations to serve thousands of new and existing clients annually through five weekly food pantry distributions at locations in Edgewater and Rogers Park.
2.Hire three new Warehouse Associates to support efficient and safe pantry operations and support staff retention by providing more staff support and coverage.
3.Maintain Care for Real’s current fleet of vehicles to support multi-site operations, the Home Delivery Program, and the Food Rescue Program that operates seven days a week.
