African Road Inc.
Mission
African Road builds long term relationships with local Changemakers, for the life, health and growth of communities in East Africa. We, as a non-profit organization, and as friends and partners, come alongside Changemakers through collaborative project development and strategic funding.
Vision
In each community we partner with, we are guided by the values and goal of cultivating agency, harmony, sustainability, and expansion of healthy leadership, which leads to implementation of and progress in community-led projects for advancement. Advancement for a community can only happen with the advancement of women and girls. In each of our partner contexts, we continue to operate with a gender lens and support steady progress alongside our Changemaker partners. Together, we work with Changemakers to address challenges and inequities in their communities, and we strive to cultivate ongoing learning as an organization and with each partner as we work to support environments that elevate and empower the women and girls in tangible ways.
Goals
- 1.Expand on existing partner projects with view for long term sustainability. Build capacity of Changemakers to increase their ability to reach new funders, improve reporting, tracking and evaluation. Maintain a deep level of relationship to encourage, coach, and collaborate as needed to support Changemakers as they work to meet their contextual realities, grow, and mature their own leadership.
- 2.Strengthen internal systems for long term organizational health, both on the organizational level and in formal relationship with Changemakers. We are committed to building a strong framework to support the activities of the organization and the Changemakers. Thoughtful policies and organizational systems provide long-term agility and sustainability.
- 3.Collaborative initiatives are rooted in local assets, strengths, capacity, and dreams, and are deliberately co-created in partnership, to achieve a shared vision. Sustainability and community ownership are essential for every project. African Road values investment in capacity building for each partner.
