Mission

The mission of ENP is to provide a unique learning environment and opportunities for everyone that will foster a lasting interest, respect, love, and hopefully greater conservation of wildlife, wild places, and the natural environment that supports us all. We provide exciting, educational, hands-on experiential outreach programming to the local and regional communities by taking our science-focused, nature and wildlife awareness and conservation and renewable energy awareness message to schools, libraries, camps, churches, special events, festivals, and other organizations. Our primary service area is Transylvania, Buncombe, Henderson, and surrounding counties but we will venture out into all of WNC, Upstate South Carolina, and East Tennessee. We also share our message with our worldwide audience via our website, YouTube channel, blogs, and Facebook pages. We have worked with our volunteers, students, and supporters, to create and maintain a one-of-a-kind, fully solar-powered, nature and science education classroom that is open to our students throughout the week and to the public by appointment. We provide a science-focused wildlife and nature conservation and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility for the continued conservation and study of our native wildlife and wild places with our primary focus being the wildlife and wild places of Transylvania County, NC. We function as a collaborative entity seeking to work with other like-minded organizations in Transylvania County and beyond, with the goals of wildlife and nature conservation, education and exploration, nature and science awareness, and the promotion and expansion of domestically-produced, distributed, renewable energy resources, as well as electric vehicles and their infrastructure. One of our future goals is to be able to provide volunteer utility vehicle assistance to local and regional organizations working to conserve and study wildlife and wild places, as well as assistance to Transylvania County residents who need the use of a utility vehicle - but may not have access or the means to pay for the service.
