South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless

Mission

Welcome Inn (A program through South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless) and its partners will offer professional and volunteer support services that will address the emergent needs of its community’s homeless and help guide them towards independent living.

Vision

A community where everyone has a safe place, the support to overcome barriers, and the opportunity to achieve lasting independence.

Goals

1.Our goal is to expand from an emergency winter shelter to a full time, year-round shelter.
2.Our second goal is to expand our Welcome Home program. Our Welcome Home program helps guests after they have become housed. We help with groceries, furniture, basic necessities in the crucial months after someone has housing, so they don't end up returning to the streets.
