Respite Volunteers of Shiawassee

Mission

The organization is dedicated to providing an array of respite support to caregivers of adults and to frail elderly persons at risk who live alone through a collaborative effort with the community of Shiawassee County. An important component of our services is to educate family caregivers, (and the patients themselves), concerning additional local senior healthcare and in-home services.

Vision

Our vision for Respite Volunteers of Shiawassee focuses on our nonprofit becoming even stronger, being more well known for helping both adults with health challenges (primarily seniors) and their family members caring for them. By being more well known, we can provide greater assistance to persons in our county. We also hope to continue to grow and navigate changes both in our county, and provide help and education to the persons we are providing services to, and their family caregivers. We envision that by providing quality services, and education and rewarding volunteer opportunities, we can actually become more sustainable also.
