To cultivate our students’ creative needs and aspirations, from a blossoming interest in music to advanced study, preparing them for a life of engaged citizenship in their community. The YYO strives to develop our students not only as musicians, but also as well-rounded and thoughtful individuals.

Goals

1. 1.To offer barrier-free access to quality music education at all levels for Ypsilanti-area children.
2. 2.To offer curricula that foreground the work of underrepresented composers in lesson planning.
3. 3.To earn, through increased trust and transparency, greater philanthropic support with the intention of maintaining the tuition-free availability of our programs.
