Our vision is to have the best cared-for crag-climbing areas in the country.

Goals

1. 1.In 2019, the community identified that the most valuable service the BCC provides is rebolting work. This work replaces aging and unsafe hardware with new hardware. Before 2022, the BCC replaced up to 150 bolts a year. Since 2022, we have been reimagining that program so that we have the capacity to replace 1,000 or more bolts a year.
2. 2.The BCC distributes 3,000+ WAG Bags, human waste disposal kits, annually. This is a popular program since there are limited restrooms at the climbing areas. We have been evaluating use patterns and adding new stations all around the Front Range to get the kits in the hands of more people and in more varied areas.
3. 3.The BCC manages eagle and raptor monitoring at several Front Range climbing areas. In recent years, there have been more closures for nesting raptors in Rocky Mountain National Park. (RMNP) We have increased our volunteer training and monitoring so that we can identify raptor nests in RMNP and narrow the breadth of closures both temporarily and geographically.
