Mission

Our mission is to share hope, honor, and dignity through food. We believe that dignity and honor are inherent and equal in every human being. Sometimes, circumstances in our lives and systems in our world leave us feeling like our dignity and honor have been suppressed and our actions and choices have been stripped of their power. OneGenAway exists to help remove barriers that leave us feeling this way and, in their stead, leave hope. Our topic of choice: food insecurity. Our hope is that no one would have to make the choice between buying food and paying for another critical need, such as medication, utilities, or rent.

Vision

Our vision is to wipe hunger off the face of America by teaching people to love one another through service. This is a lofty goal, and we do not by any means aim to reach it alone. This vision is one only fulfilled by a nationwide movement of people who wish to empower and care for their neighbors. We believe, through service together, we can create communities where those who are walking through challenging times will carry a lighter load knowing that their neighbors have their backs.
