Hero Kids Foundation
Mission
AT HERO KIDS FOUNDATION, OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND UPLIFT THE FAMILIES OF FIRST RESPONDERS AND MILITARY PERSONNEL THROUGH NATURE-BASED TEAM- BUILDING ACTIVITIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION. WE ARE DEDICATED TO FOSTERING RESILIENCE, CAMARADERIE, AND WELL-BEING WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING UNIQUE, ENGAGING EXPERIENCES THAT STRENGTHEN BONDS AND INSPIRE A DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THE NATURAL WORLD. THROUGH OUR INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, WE AIM TO CREATE A SUSTAINABLE IMPACT THAT EMPOWERS FAMILIES AND ENSURES LASTING POSITIVE CHANGE.
Vision
To establish a nationally recognized model for nature-based wellness and family resilience—where every military, first responder, and community family has access to a place of restoration, purpose, and connection; where innovative programs in environmental education, therapeutic engagement, and outdoor experiences strengthen the family unit; and where the Nature Center of Excellence stands as a lasting sanctuary that transforms challenge into growth, and service into sustained well-being.
Goals
- 1.Expand Alternative Wellness Spaces by developing multiple nature-based, low-barrier environments that increase access for military and first responder families. Scale infrastructure, partnerships, and programming to deliver consistent, year-round wellness support while reaching underserved rural communities.
- 2.Strengthen organizational capacity through targeted staff growth and development, including hiring key personnel, expanding professional training, and enhancing leadership capabilities. This investment will improve program delivery, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability across all Hero Kids Foundation initiatives.
- 3.Refine programs to prioritize core offerings—Trail of Heroes, Horticultural Wellness, and family-based resilience initiatives—while reducing or restructuring non-core activities. This ensures resources, staffing, and partnerships are aligned to maximize measurable impact for military and first responder families.
