Energy Alabama

Mission

Energy Alabama is a 501(c)(3), membership-based nonprofit committed to advancing clean energy across Alabama for the benefit of all its resident. Our work centers on advocacy for policy and regulatory reform, combined with education and outreach to advance the deployment of sustainable energy technologies and practices across our state, improve the energy efficiency of buildings, and decrease the environmental pollution caused by fossil fuels.

We believe Alabama can be a carbon free state, with affordable energy for all Alabamians, while also supporting a growing and successful economy.

Goals

1.Advance the deployment of clean energy technology by utilities who serve the people of Alabama and reduce the build-out of new fossil fuel plants for power production.
2.Hold utilities accountable through docket interventions and regulatory actions before the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
3.Complete a new strategic planning initiative.
