Mission

Ordinarie Heroes is a Black-led nonprofit organization that addresses educational and health disparities within under-resourced communities. The IE in our name stands for I’m Enough because we believe ‘ordinary’ people can create real change. Our mission is to empower young people and families, who belong to historically marginalized communities, with the resources needed to live healthy and fulfilling lives. Our youth services include group mentoring sessions on violence prevention and trauma, 1 to 1 mentoring relationships, college and career assistance, and job training in photography, videography, and graphic design. Our mobile food pantry and community garden assist individuals and families battling food insecurity. Our work leads to improved educational outcomes, food stability, and self-empowerment.
