Mission

Provides Washington, DC public regular, high-quality performances of symphonic repertoire with an emphasis on contemporary Latin American compositions, showcases Latino music talent, and educates the public about the various music styles in Latin America. PASO aspires to lead in premiering new works by Latin American composers and showcasing Hispanic music talent. PASO strives for artistic excellence and thrives on diversity in programming, artistic personnel, collaborations, and audiences. PASO aspires to grow its audience by continuing its culturally specific programming, by maintaining artistic excellence, by staying abreast of emerging Latino talent, and by effectively promoting its unique brand to a diverse audience.

Vision

PASO aspires to lead in premiering new works by Latin American composer, lead in showcasing Latino music talent, and gain new listeners through small intimate concerts at small venues and big concert experiences at larger venues.

Goals

1.PASO does not have its own theater but understands the need to reach underserved communities in Washington, DC. Its goal is to perform with a smaller ensemble in 5 new locations, including public schools, in the next 2 years. PASO is actively seeking performance venues in these neighborhoods.
2.PASO wants to offer free concerts during its season. To do this, it needs to increase individual contributions and obtain at least one major gift a year. PASO has just created an engaging donation page on its website with the objective of increasing individual donations. It is also doing its own in-house prospect research to reach out to individuals who may offer major gifts.
