Goals

1. 1.As the only Early Head Start provider in Buncombe County, Verner delivers free childcare services to 139 low-wealth Early Head Start children and families, serving 236 total children in our previous fiscal year. We offer a range of signature early education programs that further our goals and advance our vision of an early childhood education community where every individual thrives.
2. 2.The Verner Center for Resilience will provide high-quality clinical services to young children, families, and early educators across Western North Carolina. Clinicians (trained in evidence-based practices) will maintain full caseload of clients. A braided funding model, led by insurance reimbursement and diversified through multiple funding sources, will ensure long-term sustainability.
3. 3.Verner strives to be a model early childhood center where educators observe exemplary teaching, engage in guided debriefs, and strengthen practice. We will work with the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education to pursue "model center designation" and offer a robust library of in-house professional development for educators serving children birth to age 5.
