We envision the Eastside as both home and destination — an economically vibrant, inclusive community of opportunity where all can live, work, worship, and play.

Goals

1. 1.Supporting small businesses is a key priority for SAGE, as they foster community and unique identities apart from big-box retailers. SAGE provides access to grants for exterior and interior enhancements, connects entrepreneurs to valuable resources, and helps secure capital through a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI), empowering small businesses to grow and thrive.
2. 2.SAGE recognizes that while gentrification cannot be stopped, it can be managed through a bold public art and historical installations campaign. Art fosters a sense of place, affirming the Eastside as both home and destination. Community events provide opportunities to celebrate, engage all ages, and strengthen identity while driving economic development.
3. 3.SAGE supports growth without displacement by fostering commercial development that creates jobs and revitalizes underutilized areas. By convening Eastside institutions and promoting Commercial Community Land Trusts, SAGE attracts private investment. Strategic capital and infrastructure investments strengthen commercial corridors, while land ownership ensures community-driven development.
