California Fire Safe Council Inc.

Mission

The California Fire Safe Council brings people, resources, and expertise together to help communities across California take action to reduce wildfire risk and live safely with wildfire.

Vision

For all Californians to live safely with wildfire.

Goals

1.Established in 2021, the Wildfire County Coordinators Program seeks to educate, encourage, and develop countywide community collaboration and coordination among wildfire mitigation groups. The program has provided funding to 47 of California’s 58 counties to hire a County Coordinator and establish critical local capacity to plan and implement wildfire resilience strategies on the ground.
2.The Fire Safe Communities Program seeks to prevent community ignition through time-tested preparedness and mitigation activities. Communities stand a better chance at surviving catastrophic wildfires when all resiliency-bolstering activities are in place, such as: Creating Defensible Space, Hardening Homes, Mobilizing Community Mitigation & Reducing Fuels, Boosting Forest Health.
3.Fire season doesn’t have to leave us feeling fearful or helpless. There are measures we can take to keep each other safe and to protect what matters most. That’s why the California Fire Safe Council created the Fire Safe Vendor List. This free resource is designed to connect Californians with reputable businesses providing products and services that help you live more safely with wildfire.
