Begin Anew of Middle Tennessee

Mission

Begin Anew (formerly Christian Women’s Job Corps of Middle Tennessee) empowers individuals to overcome the obstacles caused by poverty by providing education, mentoring, and resources. We serve Middle Tennessee through physical locations in Davidson County (Madison, Crieve Hall, and Woodbine) and Williamson County (Franklin), as well as an Online Campus. We provide three curriculum tracks for adult students: High School Equivalency (HSE) test preparation, English Language Learning (ELL), and Computer/Job Skills (CJS). Enrollment is open to adults aged 18 and older, and persons of all faiths and cultures are welcome in our programs.

Vision

Teaching One Generation To Change The Next!

Goals

1.Across our five campuses, we will serve a minimum of 400 adult students and approximately 60 children. Our volunteer ministry responds to the needs of the whole person by addressing economic, social, and spiritual poverty. Approximately 200 volunteers serve as teachers, tutors, childcare workers, mentors/encouragers, prayer partners, and other invaluable services.
2.Begin Anew opened a Crievewood Campus in Crieve Hall in Aug 2025 to meet high demand for adult literacy. ACS data show HSE needs in Districts 27/28/30 is double Metro’s average, and 30.5% speak English less than very well. The site offers High School Equivalency, English Language Learning, and Computer and Job Skills.
3.Begin Anew transitioned from paper to digital curriculum & will continue to scale effort. Burlington English digital seats support flexibility & consistent ELL instruction, while Workforce Essentials absorbs the cost of TABE testing, digital curriculum, vouchers, & more to support HSE classes. Staff participate in self-development workshops twice a year. We purposfully diversify funding sources.
