Mission Africa
Mission
For the past 20 years, Mission Africa has been at the forefront of ensuring the holistic well-being of children and families in Africa and African residents across Western Washington. Our work in education, healthcare and poverty alleviation empowers Africans and African immigrants to live vibrant lives by providing critical programs and resources for the entire family unit. We increase access points and provide culturally relevant programs, services and information that supports assimilation, and ongoing opportunities for connection to community and resources for long-term stability. Mission Africa exists to empower immigrant and underserved families in Washington State by providing educational support, digital literacy training, youth mentorship, and community outreach programs. We strengthen students with school supplies, equip adults with computer skills, and foster leadership rooted in service and integrity—ensuring families thrive academically, economically, and spiritually.
Vision
We aspire to see immigrant and underserved families in Washington thriving as educated, digitally empowered, and spiritually grounded leaders who build stronger, more equitable communities for future generations.
Goals
- 1.Mission Africa seeks to expand programs in Washington State by strengthening education support, digital literacy, youth mentorship, and community outreach. With increased funding, partnerships, and volunteers, we aim to serve more immigrant and underserved families, enhance program quality, and build sustainable hubs for resources, training, and spiritual guidance.
- 2.As Mission Africa grows, we will scale back programs not aligned with our core purpose or duplicating existing services. This ensures wise stewardship, avoids mission drift, and strengthens impact. By narrowing focus, we deepen quality, expand reach, and build sustainability through stronger partnerships and ongoing outcome tracking.
- 3.Education reflects Mission Africa’s commitment to advocacy by equipping immigrant and underserved families with knowledge, skills, and confidence. Through school support, digital literacy, and mentorship, we empower communities to thrive, amplify their voices, and advance equity, ensuring lasting impact aligned with our cause.
