Mission

Grassroot Givers continued its mission of making a connection between needs in our community and those with resources to share. Our three core programs—Clothing, Home Essentials, and Literacy (Books)—provide like-new donations at no cost to individuals and families in need across the Capital Region. This environmentally friendly model keeps usable items out of landfills by redistributing, recycling, and repurposing donations whenever possible. We support individuals and families experiencing poverty, including those leaving shelters and setting up an apartment, refugee and migrant families who may arrive without basic essentials, and children and adults who do not have access to books for their homes and classrooms. In 2025, we carried out our mission by: Clothing Program: Filled 10,800 clothing referrals Home Essentials Program: Provided household essentials to 611 households Literacy Program: Distributed 72,000 books
