Mission

HEET’s mission is to lead systemic change through an equitable and efficient thermal energy transition. For more than fifteen years, HEET has been a spunky nonprofit climate solutions incubator rooted in community action. Almost seven years ago, HEET hatched an ambitious plan to reduce methane emissions by transitioning gas utilities to thermal utilities that manage ultra-efficient networks of ground source heat pumps—we call this Gas to Geo. To fully meet this moment, HEET is embracing our growing role as a trusted change leader in the thermal transition—one that brings together an unusually diverse range of stakeholders through science, innovation and policy while keeping people at the heart of our work.

Vision

We believe in an equitable energy transition that meets the needs of all, from low-income communities to gas utility workers to future generations. To accomplish this, we build collaborative networks based on trust, bring uncommon partners together to find common ground, and iterate to find solutions supported by science.

Goals
