Feeding the Success of Alaska's Children

Goals

1. 1.42% of children in the area we serve are on free or reduced lunch programs. Our 5 year strategic goals include expanding our mobile child feeding program into new areas of where our need is the greatest in more remote areas of the borough. Our new regenerative agriculture educational farm supports both food security and sustainability goals ensuring access to fresh produce daily.
2. 2.In 2024 we hired a nonprofit financial consultant to improve budgeting, compliance, and transparency. We also expanded professional development to our Board and staff, such as leadership trainings with Foraker, workshops on nonprofit management, and safety to foster a culture of learning and growth within the organization.
3. 3.Our recent program expansion with the regenerative agriculture educational farm, we worked to hire staff with expertise in food security and farm management. This ensures that our mission remains well-supported by knowledgeable professionals who help ensure the sustainability of our programs minimizing reliance on donations and grant funding to purchase food to sustain our child feeding program.
