Mission

Parentis Foundation seeks to address the needs of children unable to read proficiently by the end of third grade: A major contributor to poverty. We empower older adults to leverage their time, talents, and wisdom through one-to-one reading tutoring and mentoring which inspires a child's academic achievement and fosters positive social development.

Bridge the generational divide by creating a symbiotic relationship where children and older adults

Goals

1.We will recruit, train, and retain 145 older-adult volunteers to provide reading tutoring to 350 at-risk readers, a 42% increase over 21-22 delivering 10,400 1:1 tutoring sessions.
2.We plan to provide virtual tutoring services to children who are unable to receive in-person support due to chronic health conditions.
3.Invest in a consultant to help guide us through board development and strategic planning to ensure future growth and expansion aligns with our mission and vision.
