The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Rebounding from COVID has not been easy but Ekam USA has survived this transition. Ekam partnered with other nonprofits to expand the scope of our services and the geographic reach to new communities and locations, in USA and internationally in India and Africa.
We have resumed our focus on healthcare by continuing to support rural medical facilities that serve pregnant women, children & underprivileged communities by providing medical equipment for basic medical care to this population who have limited access to health care.
Prosthetic limbs were provided to the patients that could not afford them- children and adults, so they could resume normal lives.
Health and nutrition education has been provided to the community as well as adolescents through hygiene and safe health practice training. Education has been supported through financial scholarship, providing transport to schools, giving school supplies and helping with infrastructure of schools and students in need.
Professional education has been supported to medical students and underprivileged beneficiaries to facilitate long term sustainable income, resulting in economic improvement of communities. Online tutoring of English and other subjects was provided locally and in other countries by our enthusiastic volunteers.
Multiple livelihood opportunities were provided to mothers of disabled children, tribal communities and COVID-affected families, to sustain the family's wellbeing.
Youth workshops have been offered to develop service-mindedness, empowering youth with mental resilience, yoga, goal-setting, etc. to train them as better volunteers. Service opportunities were provided so youth and adult volunteers could participate in programs to provide regular meals to orphanages, shelters, elderly people, disabled children, etc.
Environmental support was provided through tree planting and plant sales. Clean water is being provided to remote villages caught in draught by providing sustainable water sources.
