Columbia County Sanctuary Movement

Mission

Columbia County Sanctuary Movement organizes with (im)migrants and allies to collectively support, empower, and defend our organization

Vision

We have a Statement of Principles and Practices that is available to read at our website - www.sanctuarycolumbiacounty.org

Goals

1.Provide resources for immigrant community members who are underserved or overlooked by existing systems. Our work supports members in navigating institutional structures that were not designed with them in mind and in some cases, deliberately built to exclude them. We work alongside our members to break down these barriers, and with institutions to build systems that make services more accessible.
2.We strive to build an inclusive and welcoming New York for all by advocating for the voices of immigrant community members and joining or leading coalitions that push for legislation to defend and protect immigrant rights.
