Vision

That the justice gap in Middle Georgia will be substantially reduced by our efforts to find a way to provide legal assistance for everyone in Middle Georgia who needs legal assistance but cannot afford it. Our goal is to provide Middle Georgia residents full access to effective assistance for their essential legal needs by a variety of traditional and innovative means.

Goals

1. 1.Expand Access to Legal Services: Increase the number of low-income individuals served by providing free legal assistance in family law, probate, and criminal history relief to approximately 100 individuals annually.
2. 2.Enhance Community Education and Outreach: Increase awareness of MGJ’s services through outreach programs and community partnerships with local nonprofits, courts, and Mercer Law School.
3. 3.Reduce Self-Representation in Court: Provide legal consultations and representation to minimize the need for self-representation, which often leads to negative legal outcomes for low-income individuals and can significantly impact the functionality of the local court systems.
