Build Pagosa Inc.
Mission
Build Pagosa is working to build a more solid economic future for Pagosa Springs and the surrounding communities by connecting people with the skills they need to thrive. Through dynamic partnerships, robust financial support, and hands-on training, we're building a stronger, more vibrant community. We're a passionate public charity dedicated to fostering collaboration between trades, businesses, and residents. From building a state-of-the-art Regional Workforce Center at Pagosa Springs High School to equipping students with the tools they need to succeed, we're investing in the region's smart and sustainable growth.
Vision
The gap between the educational offering available in rural Southwest Colorado and the urgent needs of the labor force is vast. In Archuleta County and beyond, the 501(c)3 Build Pagosa, Inc. (BP) is bridging that gap and creating economic opportunities across the region by providing the facilities, equipment, and instructional resources for evidence-informed Career & Technical Education (CTE). Through regional partnerships with education, industry, and community organizations, we invest in high-impact CTE programs and connect students from a wide socioeconomic spectrum with employers to create dignified, living-wage jobs
Goals
- 1.The construction of the Regional Workforce Center is our major focus. Build Pagosa has facilitated numerous stakeholder engagement meetings to align our efforts with the priorities of the communities for whom we work. These sessions, along with careful analysis of the constraints that limit program effectiveness, point to a clear need for a space to host CTE programs.
- 2.With the construction of the regional workforce center we will be able to greatly expand our communities access to career skills training. The new facility will allow for the addition of many more classes at the post secondary level through our partnership with Pueblo Community Collège. Current postsecondary education and credential options are virtually nonexistent in our community.
