I Am Human Foundation
Mission
The I Am Human Foundation exists to speak for individuals society deems "less than" by providing food, basic human needs, and life-affirming support to marginalized individuals—especially those in Black and Brown communities who face homelessness, live with HIV, or have been abandoned by their families. We create safe spaces where every person is valued simply because they are human.
Vision
We envision a world where every person—regardless of who they are or where they come from—has access to basic human needs: food, shelter, healthcare, and dignity. A future where no one is abandoned or forgotten, where communities care for their most vulnerable members, and where systemic barriers that create homelessness, food insecurity, and health disparities are eliminated. We see a society where young people are supported and empowered, where families embrace rather than reject their children, and where every individual can live authentically without fear of discrimination or violence. Our vision is of thriving communities built on mutual aid, healing justice, and the fundamental belief that we are all human.
Goals
- 1.Our priority is strengthening core services to reach more people in need. We will increase meal distribution frequency, expand HIV testing and support services, grow youth programming capacity, and enhance housing assistance outreach. By scaling proven programs, we can serve deeper into communities where marginalized individuals lack access to basic human needs and affirming care.
- 2.We will create new initiatives based on emerging needs we observe within our community. By listening to those we serve and analyzing trends in service requests, we'll design targeted programs that address gaps in support. This responsive approach ensures our services evolve with our community's changing challenges and circumstances.
- 3.We will invest in our foundation's infrastructure by expanding staff, enhancing volunteer training programs, improving data systems for better service tracking, and developing sustainable funding streams. Building internal capacity ensures we can effectively manage growth, maintain quality services, and create lasting impact in the communities we serve.
