Raising Hands Literacy Project

Mission

Raising Hands Literacy Project is a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing educational equity by providing free, evidence-based literacy intervention, caregiver support, and community-based educational services to underserved children and families. Founded by educators and rooted in structured literacy and community partnership, the organization works to remove the financial, linguistic, and systemic barriers that prevent children from accessing the supports they need to thrive academically and developmentally. Through literacy tutoring, caregiver advocacy training, early childhood programming, and family navigation support, Raising Hands Literacy Project partners with schools, churches, libraries, and other trusted community spaces to deliver culturally responsive services directly within underserved communities.

Vision

We envision a future where all children enter school prepared to succeed and all families have equitable access to literacy opportunities, educational support, and community connection. By bringing evidence-based literacy experiences into trusted community spaces, we seek to reduce educational inequities and create pathways for lifelong success.

Goals
