Vail Valley Charitable Fund Inc.
Mission
We approve direct aid to locals facing financial burdens due to medical crises or long-term illnesses; extended grant fundraisers rally our community to support applicants facing extreme hardships. We offer this portfolio of programs, designed to support health and wellness, allowing applicants to focus on healing rather than financial stressors. •Direct Aid provides financial aid based on need, up to $7,500; we help an average of 70 applicants per year. •Vail Breast Cancer Group (VBCG) provides comfort to community members facing a breast cancer diagnosis; many are also helped with our direct aid. In 2025, we launched a paid screening mammogram program for uninsured women. •Eagle County Smiles (ECS) provides dental care and education to youth ages 0-18 years. •Eagle County Grins (ECG), provides $3,000 in funds for adults to pay for dental treatment and connects applicants to existing CHP+ Medicare and state benefits. •Eagle County Moves provides physical therapy.
Vision
For thirty years, the Vail Valley Charitable Fund has been the trusted community provider when neighbors are suffering from a medical crisis or long-term illness; from that experience, we've developed a portfolio of programs to promote health and well-being. We will continue to hear and meet our community's needs through growing programs that will take a more preventive role in helping our neighbors be as healthy as possible.
Goals
- 1.Fully fund our endowment to $1.5 million. With a fully funded endowment, we can use all proceeds from the fund to pay for our overhead expenses, thus funneling 100% of donations to our programs.
- 2.Increase our average number of direct aid recipients per year from 55 to 60. This is based on community needs, as evidenced by the highest-ever number of applications.
- 3.Based on community feedback, we will continue to observe gaps in achieving health and well-being. Current trends suggest our community could use assistance in attaining access to vision care, orthodontia, prostate health and an expansion of women's health screenings.
