Vision

Our vision is to continue to be a place of learning, innovation and creativity to nurture and strengthen the community. We wish to inspire and empower individual and collective growth through lifelong learning, social engagement and cultural connectedness.

Goals

1. 1.The Sawyer Library Foundation exists solely to raise the funds necessary to allow expansion and renovation of the existing Sawyer Free Library. The Sawyer Free Library does not receive municipal funds for capital improvements. These funds must be raised from donations and grants with nearly 70% of the needed funding raised as of the end of calendar 2024.
2. 2.The Sawyer Library Foundation will continue to engage fund raising until it achieves donations totaling $28 million. This will be achieved via community outreach using direct donor solicitation, advertising, social media and fund raising events.
3. 3.Sawyer Free Library welcomes about 275,000 in-person and website visitors annually, making it the city’s single widest-reaching institution. We are committed to applying our new and renovated resources in a way that addresses the evolving needs of our community, thus ensuring ongoing learning and community service.
