Good World Animal Rescue & Protection's (GWARP) shelter in Azerbaijan cares for more than 600 dogs and cats. Many of these dogs have suffered unbearable cruelty. Some have lived their entire lives on the harsh streets, contending with speeding cars, lack of food or water, and attacks from other dogs. Random acts of cruelty by humans are commonplace. We rescue and provide sanctuary to dogfighting survivors, paralyzed, disfigured, blind, abandoned and abused animals. GWARP's mission is to take in the most sick or vulnerable animals, with the goal to eventually get them out of the dog yard and into loving homes. In the past four years, GWARP has flown over 400 dogs and cats to the U.S. and Canada.

To receive a star rating, a charity must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity. Private foundations, consolidated subsidiaries, and organizations with revoked or inactive IRS status are not eligible for a rating.
