Mission

BRAVE SPACE ALLIANCE IS THE BLACK-LED, TRANS-LED LGBTQ+ CENTER LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO, DEDICATED TO CREATING AND PROVIDING AFFIRMING, CULTURALLY COMPETENT, FOR-US BY-US RESOURCES, PROGRAMMING, AND SERVICES FOR LGBTQ+ INDIVIDUALS ON THE SOUTH AND WEST SIDES OF THE CITY. WE STRIVE TO EMPOWER, EMBOLDEN, AND EDUCATE EACH OTHER THROUGH MUTUAL AID, KNOWLEDGE-SHARING, AND THE CREATION OF COMMUNITY-SOURCED RESOURCES AS WE BUILD TOWARD THE LIBERATION OF ALL OPPRESSED PEOPLES.

Vision

Goals

1.Reach 150 community members served by the Behavioral Health program by end of 2025. Offer 2,000+ pounds of food biweekly, sourced from our partners. Maintain and refine the new workforce development and financial literacy programs. Develop a robust evaluation system to ensure that the program is providing beneficiaries with high-quality services and uncover potential areas for improvement.
2.Join three new coalitions outside the traditional “LGTBQ+” space to gain access to the tables that Black and trans individuals are rarely invited to, such as legislative and legal environments Foster three new partnerships with members of local and state government to educate them about how transgender rights and gender liberation affect the struggle for racial justice.
