Vision

"Silver Lining Gary" provides free spay/neuter, microchips/vaccines, and TNR to underserved, marginalized pet families in Gary fighting against economic and racial disparities. Partnerships play a pivotal role, bringing awareness for the community to often underutilized services. These vital connections serve as conduits, offering access to resources that address a spectrum of needs—from housing and utilities to issues related to homelessness, transportation, recovery, therapy, literacy, and beyond. Through these strategic alliances, we create a network that goes beyond the immediate scope of animal welfare. This program pioneers a trail that shelters/organizations can follow, envisioning shelters as temporary holds until animals are reunited, adopted, or rescued. Silverstray's vision heals communities, bolsters mental health, facilitates animal homecomings, prevents overpopulation/disease, eases local animal control facilities, and fosters a healthy, thriving, caring community.

Goals

1. 1.Develop a toolkit for each of the five regions. This toolkit is designed to serve as a blueprint for other organizations, enabling them to replicate the successful model implemented by Silverstray.
2. 2.Advocacy creates lasting systemic change through policy engagement, community education, strategic partnerships, media and public relations, conference and events, certifications and awards.
3. 3.Investing in dedicated management is not only a commitment to their well-being but also a strategic move to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the non-profit.
