Vision

A county where our inherited environment is protected and cultural and historic resources are treasured. Where adaptive reuse of significant historic resources is promoted over demolition. Where both the community and visitors are engaged with Ventura County's history and heritage because of the authenticity of our cities and rural areas.

Goals

1. 1.Continue to advocate and educate for historic preservation and adaptive reuse in Ventura and surrounding areas. Educate city and county staff around the County about the value of authentic historic resources and the economic benefits of innovative historic reuse over demolition and generic development.
2. 2.Expand the reach of Conservancy programs and tours to preserve and protect more historic and cultural resources in greater Ventura County by fostering new local Conservancies and supporting grass-roots preservation efforts in all the cities and rural areas of Ventura County.
3. 3.Educate and partner with municipal planning departments around Ventura County to raise awareness of cultural resources and identify historic properties. Partner with communities and local government entities to seek grants and leverage preservation incentives to survey historic properties and codify heritage protections into local general plans.
