Community-Based Restoration Programs to Avert the Worst Effects of Extreme Poverty Today & Climate Change Tomorrow. Purpose on the Planet is committed to developing effective and economical solutions for the intertwined environmental and socioeconomic issues of our time. By improving livelihoods in Africa through large-scale tree planting & long-term forest conservation programs, we're helping to avert the worst effects of extreme poverty today & climate change tomorrow. Since 2012, our community-based Recruit & Restore projects have provided an innovative path for transforming a spiral of poverty-based decline into a virtuous cycle of positive progress. REWRITE OUR STORY: Relieve Poverty ∙ Restore Nature ∙ Remove Carbon ∙ Reduce Emissions Every $20 donation will: - Create a day of work & income for a villager in extreme poverty - Plant 45 trees to remove around 1 metric ton of CO2 - Inform you on adopting a more sustainable lifestyle through a monthly series, Sustainable Solutions. As founders we cover 100% of our general operating expenses ourselves, so that donors confidently trust that 100% of every donation they make goes directly toward the environment and the positive humanitarian outcomes that our programs have been created to deliver: “IN THE 21ST CENTURY, I THINK THE HEROES WILL BE THE PEOPLE WHO WILL IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE, FIGHT POVERTY AND INTRODUCE MORE SUSTAINABILITY.“ - BERTRAND PICCARD We are looking to harness the collective power of Next Generation Global Citizens to fight poverty, mitigate climate change, and ensure prosperity for current and future generations.
Goals
- 1.To create high-impact/low-cost programs for individuals to impact 10 key global challenges: Relieve Poverty • Recognize Climate Justice • Reduce Hunger & Food Insecurity • Increase Access to Clean Water • Restore Nature & Conserve Forests • Protect Biodiversity • Support Marine Health • Accelerate Carbon Sequestration • Advance Climate Resilience & Adaptation • Create a More Sustainable Future
- 2.To enable donors to offset their annual carbon footprint through a $20 monthly donation to our large-scale tree planting and long-term forest conservation projects. Specifically, planting 600 trees will sequester more CO2 than a US resident emits in a full year, while also providing 2 weeks of work and fair income for local community team members living in extreme poverty.
- 3.To develop a "financially friction-less" model, which ensures maximum impact from every donation and also provides transparent, clearly defined, & measurable deliverables with every contribution made. To provide all donors with a monthly enrichment series on how they are directly impacting 12 of the world's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
