Mission

HALO (Helping Animals Live On) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1994 by two women, Michel Herstam and Heather Allen, out of their homes in Phoenix, AZ. HALO provides temporary shelter to abandoned cats and dogs until they can be adopted into a permanent home. Our mission is Helping Animals Live On through increased adoption, sterilization and pet care education Since 1994 we have found homes for more than 85,000 pets!

Goals

1.Continue to provide safe haven for homeless pets both that are with owners who need help and in partner shelters where they may otherwise be euthanized or subject to overcrowding.
2.Ensure we continue to manage our finances intelligently so we can continue to provide care for animals for many more decades to come.
3.Ensure we continue to play a role in our community coalition, The Alliance for Companion Animals. HALO is a founding member of this coalition and HALO's CEO has sat in all positions of this committee.
